BIOGRAPHY & RESUME - MARILYN J. HAYES
I am a student of myth, culture and spirituality and am concerned with exploring and expressing feminine power and honoring Mother Earth. I am also involved in projects that reflect my ancestors, their culture and their spiritual experiences. I was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada in 1944, and later moved with my family to Pontiac, Michigan. After earning a degree in Secondary Education and Social Science, she moved to Washington DC to work for the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. I studied drawing, painting, and monotype at the Washington Studio School in Washington DC. I have taken additional courses in lithography and monotype. I currently live in Arlington, VA. .
I have exhibited my work in the Washington DC area, in New York, and internationally for the last 20 years and have work in private collections.
